In the book of Genesis 41 verses 53 through 57 it says "And the seven years of plenty, which was in the land of Egypt, were ended. And the seven years of dearth began to come and all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands." In those days, Egypt became the storehouse of the world. Scarabs amulets shaped like the sacred beetle were traded across cultures. These small carved stones carried not only spiritual meaning but also economic value. They crossed borders as tokens of wealth, exchanged for corn during famine.
